Home

The second morning after the wedding, we departed from Rochester, NY, to embark on our honeymoon in Puerto Rico. We started in San Juan, where we toured forts, visited the Bacardi rum plant, and played on the beach. From there we traveled to Fajardo, on the northeastern edge of the island, to catch a ferry to the little island of Vieques. There we swam in a bioluminescent bay and witnessed the aftermath of a brush with a hurricane. We rounded out the trip with two days in the rain forest of El Yunque. We stayed at a small eco-lodge set halfway up one of the mountains in the area, and enjoyed hiking, swimming and reading to the sound of thousands of tiny coqui frogs.
